From john.fraser at mednet.org Fri Jan 25 15:47:15 2008 From: john.fraser at mednet.org (John Fraser) Date: Fri, 25 Jan 2008 17:47:15 -0600 Subject: [SIG-HIM] Liberty Alliance - Health Identity Management SIG Kickoff Call Message-ID: Everyone; It is with great pleasure that Pete Palmer and I announce the kick off call for the new Health Identity Management Special Interest Group (HIM SIG) within the Liberty Alliance. It is scheduled for 10 a.m. Central US time, February 1st, 2008, a week from today. As many of you know, this new SIG is a combination of the old Liberty Healthcare SIG and the Health Identity Management Consortium (HIMC). Pete Palmer of Wells Fargo Bank and I were the co-chairs of the HIMC group, and now continue as co-chairs in this new group. We decided to join these groups to help steer an international federation of health care identity management services to foster better and more efficient patient care both in the US and internationally. As with any new group, the first meeting will be focused on the Charter for the group, a discussion of the Liberty Alliance and its goals, and our groups relationship with other Liberty groups. I hope to have Brett McDowell the Executive Director on the call, as well as a member of the Identity Assurance Expert Group. I was a consultant on the paper (please see the note at the bottom of page 1 of the document), http://www.connectingforhealth.org/commonframework/docs/T7_consumer_authen.p df, and a participant in the workgroup. I am currently participating on behalf of the Markle Foundation and Connecting for Health in HITSP technical committees including the Identity Credentials Management workgroup of the Security and Privacy Technical Committee. I would be glad to send a note to Clay, Josh Lemieux, David Lansky and Carol Diamond all from Markle Foundation. I would also make introductions if that would be helpful.
